On April 27, 2014 some serious tornadoes ripped through Arkansas.  While sorting through some search engine results for recent open data articles, I came across a post from Esri that visualizes the path of a tornado using Arkansas open data.  The GIS report that they created overlays the tornado data with other types of layers such as demographics.  Click here to read the article and learn more about the work that they did for this project.  Here’s an embedded app from the post that demonstrates the power of open data in an interactive tool:
